Lessons & Workshops

For Persons with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and persons who are Autistic, I offer the following :

• Adaptable brushes

• Understanding of aversion to textures and certain art materials

• Guidance for persons who are blind in tactile art making

• Participants experience various art mediums (paint, ink, sculpting materials), art techniques, artistic processes (painting, printmaking, paper mache) and the use of tools such as brushes, pipettes, and brayers.

• What I provide:

• 20 minute consultation

• Customized art project based on our discussion

• All art materials: paint, brushes, paper, water cups, paper towels (colored pencils, chalk pastels, oil pastels, specialty papers, etc)

• 60 minute art project facilitation

• I teach basic drawing techniques, color mixing and general composition

• I encourage personal expression, often asking participants to try a new technique and allow their art and intuition to guide them

• (I arrive 30 min prior to activity to set up and appreciate some assistance in project clean up)
